The Infection Control Nurse/Practitioner is responsible for executing and maintaining the number of aspects of the Infection Control Program in the Health care company. He/she is collaborating between all departments and the Infection Control Committee. You as a Infection Control Nurse/Practitioner carry on a routine monitoring program of patients and personnel. As well as the environmental problems which may cause a real or potential danger to the well-being of patients, visitors, or personnel of the Health Care Company.

-Duties

Infection control nurse has to perform the following duties.

  • They have to participate in the infection control programs and must take initiatives to ensure that such programs turn out to be successful.

  • They have to treat patients suffering from contagious infection in the right manner.

  • They must educate people regarding the need to keep such patients isolated.

  • They must administer the right medication for prevention and treatment of contagious infections.

  • They need to isolate people who are suffering from infection and provide them the right facilities for recovering.

  • They need to investigate about the causes of infection and detail the precautionary measures that should be implemented.
