Front office trainee, will be the first person the guests meet in the hotel so you will play a key role to making their visit great by performing good customer service. Also, your job will include various administrative and clerical tasks. Your tasks will vary every day from basic office tasks (eg. organizing documents and answering the phone) to helping customers with whatever they need.

-Duties

In the front office your duties will vary every day and they may include: ensuring accurate and efficient running of reception including check in/out procedures, responding to guest queries in a timely and efficient manner, insuring that both the Front Office Manager and Reception Supervisors are kept fully aware of any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments, demonstrating a high level of customer service at all times, understanding thoroughly all hotel room categories, room rates, packages, promotions and other general product knowledge necessary to perform daily duties, maximizing room occupancy and use upselling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities, understanding correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy, ensuring all Guest deliveries and messages are received effectively and efficiently, acting in accordance with fire, health and safety regulations and follow the correct procedures when required, following and adhering to company brand standards, assisting other departments wherever necessary and maintaining good working relationships with team members.

-Area Description

Located very close to the coasts of Turkey, Kos island is the second most popular island of Dodecanese, after Rhodes. Due to its large size, Kos Greece keeps a balance in tourism development. Some spots are very organized, while others are almost secluded and away from mass tourism. Kos Town is a mixture of Venetian and Ottoman architecture with interesting sightseeings, such as a Medieval Castle, an Ancient Agora, a Roman Odeon and of course the famous Asklepieion, an ancient healing centre, in short distance from the Town and great place to visit in your Kos holidays. The most tourist places are located on the southern side of the island, including Kardamena and Kefalos. This is where visitors can find large golden beaches with crystal water. 

-Requirements

Everybody is eligible to work in hotels, however the program is highly beneficial for those studying a degree related to tourism and hospitality industry. Previous work experience in the same field is considered a huge advantage. We are looking for open-minded people who are ready to work and are willing to meet new challenges in their life.

-Curriculum Activities

Kos Island is located in the Aegean Sea at the very shores of Asia Minor. In the West of Kos there are three resort villages: Tigaki, Marmari and Mastihari. The best beaches of Kos are in the north of Kefalos Bay. The most significant archaeological monument of Kos Asklepeyon is located 4 km from the city of Kos. Traditional products from Kos are sweet tomato jam, possa goat cheese stored in red wine, honey, olive oil and sweets. Kos is a beautiful green island with open-air museums and beautiful beaches.

-Work Day

You will be working 8 hours per day with a break for your meal. There are different shifts at the hotel so you may be working in the morning,evening or night shift. You might have a straight shift (work 8 hours in arow) or a split-shift (work 4 hours first and after a break work another 4 hours).
